About the course duration

▪ How fast do I need to take the course to complete it in 6 months?

The course materials require about 150 hours of study, including 81 videos, textbooks, practical cooking exercises, written assignments, and graded exams. The more time you spend mainly on cooking practice, the longer it will take so that you can do it at your own pace, depending on your personal needs.

It is recommended that you study about 6-7 hours per week to earn your certificate within 6 months.

▪ When do classes start after I purchase a course?

Once you have purchased the course, the office will contact you with the details within a few business days.
After receiving your login pass and ID, you can start the course anytime you like.
Please note that we are closed on weekends and holidays.

▪ What happens if I fail to finish the course within the course time frame?

After the course period expires, you will no longer have access to the certification course program, exams, instructor-graded assignments, questions, and support functions.

If you cannot complete the program by the expiration date, you can extend your course for 30 days for an additional fee of $100.

▪ Will I be able to access the contents of the certification course after the course period has expired?

If you register as a member (annual fee: $100) before the end of the course, you will be able to continue using all the contents. For corporate and school plans, the annual membership fee is $600 per 10 persons.

Besides, you can attend cooking lessons and food-related seminars and events by top Japanese chefs on an ongoing basis.

How to enroll in classes and how to submit questions

▪ When and how do I join the class?

After payment is completed, you will receive your ID and password via email.

The course is available on-demand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from any Internet-enabled device. You can take the course at your own pace, anytime, anywhere.

▪ What kind of environment and devices do I need to take the course?

▪ Is there a limit to the number of questions I can ask the instructor?

You can email the instructor any time during the course to ask questions about the program content. There is no limit to the number of questions you can ask.

About Fees

▪ What is included in the course fee?

Course fee, textbooks, examination fee, and certificate issuance fee are included in the course fee. You will need to purchase your cooking tools and ingredients for the course.

▪ Do I need to purchase any books or other materials?

We will provide you with the textbooks and recipes for the course, so there is no need to purchase them.

▪ Do I have to pay the tuition at once or are there other options?

The payment can only be made in a lump sum.

▪ If I fail an exam and want to retake it, do I have to pay for a re-examination even during the course duration?

If you fail an exam and need to retake it, the following fees will be charged per exam for each course.

▪ Cancellation and Refund Policy?

Please note our cancellation and refund policy:
No refunds for cancellations or non-attendance will be given after your application.

Passing Line and Scoring

▪ What is the minimum passing score to pass the exam?

You need to get 70% correct answers in the written exam. Also, there will be a practical performance assessment check with a video submission.

▪ How is the test graded?

The test will be an online written test (optional) and a practical performance assessment check. For the performance assessment check, you will be asked to submit videos and photos of some of the tasks. The instructors, chefs, will check and grade your performance.

Later, you will receive the results of the test and feedback from them on the practical skills.

Services for Members

▪ Continual access to contents, seminars by top chefs.

If you register as a member before the end of the course (annual fee: $100), you can continue to use all of the contents. For corporate and school plans, the yearly membership fee is $500 per 10 persons. You will also be able to attend cooking lessons and food-related events and seminars by top Japanese chefs on an ongoing basis, allowing you to improve your skills and knowledge updated continuously.

▪ How do I become a member?

You will receive an email notification before the end of the course, so please register by the due date.

▪ You can purchase single-use videos of attractive recipes.

You can purchase the rights to watch other programs, cooking videos, and recipes that interest you on a stand-alone basis. (In preparation)

Course Restrictions

Certification of cooking skills for Japanese cuisine in foreign countries is not available to Japanese nationals.

If you are found to have Japanese nationality after registration, your certificate will be invalidated. Please note that no refunds will be given.

The certificates and accreditations of this program do not guarantee you employments or any specific positions. However, we believe that systematically learning basic Japanese cooking techniques will help you improve your skills in a short period and provide you with menus with immediate results. Yes, you can. You can access the course content 24/7, so you can learn when you need to and review it whenever you want. As a member, you will always have access to course contents so that you can update your learning at any time.
